Aleesha Esmail
Physiotherapist
Born and raised in beautiful British Columbia, Aleesha completed both her Bachelors of Kinesiology and Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia. Growing up, she always knew she wanted to get into a profession that allowed her to help others. That, along with her passion for sports steered her in the direction of becoming a physiotherapist.
Why pelvic floor physiotherapy?
“Once I began my Masters program, I developed an interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy as I discovered loved ones around me were silently living with pelvic floor dysfunctions and pain. I saw how issues like incontinence, constipation, prolapse, poor scar mobility, dyspareunia, impacted not only their physical health but also their, mental, social, and emotional well-being. This allowed me to understand and appreciate the integral role pelvic health plays in our daily function and overall quality of life. I knew right then, I wanted to be part of the change, erasing the stigma and normalizing conversations around pelvic health that is not openly discussed.
I strongly believe in taking the time to build strong therapeutic connections with my clients in a space where they feel seen, safe, and supported with whatever they may be experiencing. My goal is to empower all my clients, no matter what stage of life, to feel confident in their bodies, comfortable talking about their bodies and capable in what their bodies can do. My approach is to provide clients with a foundation of knowledge, exercises, manual therapy, and self-management strategies, to help achieve any goal they set out for themselves, pre- or post-natal, no matter how big or small!”
Pelvic Health Certifications:
Pelvic Health Solutions Level 1 Pelvic Health Solutions Level 2
